The world always needs leaders. Whether in work, in school, at home, or with your peers, you always have the opportunity to be a leader. Most people disregard this simple truth and go through the motions and never feel the exhilaration of being a leader.  Here are some reasons why being a leader can be great.

1. It is your dream that fuels the machine. If you decide to become a leader than you will have to become more innovative but the sense of fulfillment far outweighs the responsibilities of leadership. There are so many opportunities to make your dreams a reality and at the same time build others while you are going. It may take a little more time but it will be well rewarded in the end.
2. Leading teaches you added responsibility and with added responsibility comes more professionalism. If you want to be a leader in your chosen field then you need to be competent and fluent in whatever you are doing.
3. Leadership teaches you to be selfless not selfish and this give you much more to live for. It will bring more joy in your life and help you see the real reason why you are here. It is about bringing change and helping others.
4. There are many humbling moments as a leader. The nice thing about having these humbling moments is that you will come to find that you are just as human as the next person. Humility can take you a lot further than anything else and is therefore a wonderful asset to keep.
